2. The essentials

MyNextGameFinder works without accounts, without tracking cookies and without ads. Your answers in the question wizard are anonymous and are not stored permanently. One technically necessary cookie (NEXT_LOCALE) only remembers your language choice.

3. Hosting and server logs

When you visit the site, our hosting provider (Cloudflare, Inc., USA — EU-US Data Privacy Framework) processes technically necessary data (IP address, date and time of access, requested page, browser user agent) to deliver the website and keep it secure (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). These logs are not merged with other data sources.

4. Question wizard (game recommendations)

Your answers (e.g. platform, mood, time budget) are sent to our server, used solely to compute the recommendation and not stored permanently. No personal reference is established. Our server queries the IGDB games database on your behalf — none of your data is transmitted to IGDB.

5. Game covers from IGDB (third-party content)

Your browser loads the cover images of recommended games directly from IGDB servers (images.igdb.com, operated by Twitch Interactive, Inc. / Amazon.com, Inc., USA). Your IP address is transmitted to these servers — this is technically necessary to display the images (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Transfers to the USA are based on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, which Amazon participates in.

5a. Trailer videos (YouTube, click-to-load)

Game trailers are only embedded after you actively click “Watch trailer” (click-to-load). Only then does your browser load the video in the privacy-enhanced mode of youtube-nocookie.com (Google Ireland Ltd. / Google LLC, USA — EU-US Data Privacy Framework), transmitting your IP address to Google. The legal basis is your consent expressed by the click (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Without the click, no data flows to Google.

6. External links

Detail links lead to external providers (e.g. IGDB.com), whose own privacy policies apply. The donation link leads to PayPal; data reaches PayPal only once you click it (PayPal (Europe) S.à r.l. et Cie, S.C.A., Luxembourg).

7. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right of access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and objection (Art. 21). You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority; for Bavaria this is the Bavarian State Office for Data Protection Supervision (BayLDA), Ansbach.
